What does the storage meter show?

The Subscription meter shows mailbox allocations against plan capacity, not measured stored-message bytes. For example, a 12 GB account assigning 2 GB to each of two mailboxes has allocated 4 GB even if its messages use much less.

Change allocations

  1. On a paid subscription, expand Allocate account storage to mailboxes.
  2. Enter the requested mailbox allocation in MB and save. Leave capacity for the other mailboxes.
  3. Wait for the mail server acknowledgement; the operation can be pending before the new allocation is confirmed.
  4. If the operation fails and offers Retry, use it instead of submitting conflicting requests.

When reducing storage

A mailbox cannot be reduced below its stored mail. Reduction needs valid live usage from the mail server; if that measurement is unavailable, the request stops safely. Pending increases may reserve the larger allocation to prevent concurrent requests from exceeding account capacity.
