DNS records saved but verification is incomplete
Check the active provider, full record name and value before retrying.
Editorial update: October 30, 2026In this guide
Start with common causes
- Confirm the domain and verification stage: ownership, receiving or sending.
- Check active nameservers. Saving at the registrar does not help if DNS is hosted elsewhere.
- Check the final name: _onemail.example.com is correct; _onemail.example.com.example.com is an accidental duplicate.
- Check record type, value and priority, and confirm the changes were saved. Do not add spaces or https to DNS hostnames.
Propagation and TTL
After saving, cached old answers can remain for a period influenced by TTL. There is no single guaranteed time when every resolver sees a new record. Changing correct values every few minutes complicates diagnosis; keep the requested values and allow time before checking again.
When is provisioning the issue?
If DNS checks pass but a mailbox or sending route is still preparing, use the provisioning guide instead of continuing to change DNS. Report the domain, record type, stage and time, without passwords or API keys.
